BMTC MONTHLY COMMUTER PASS RATES, TRAVEL FACILITIES OFFERED & SPECIAL BENEFITS
We issue different types of Passes (Volvo, A/C Suvarna & ordinary city & sub-urban) to cater to the different sections of the society according to their needs.

Details of various Passes issued by BMTC during the year 2012-13

A. Volvo & A/C Suvarna ( Monthly & Daily) Passes:

  1. Vajra Monthly (one calender month) Passes*: Available on-board Vajra Bus Services
a) Vajra Monthly Gold Pass: Rs 1450/- (w.e.f. 1st July, 2011)
Requires a BMTC ID** Validation

b) Vajra Monthly Friendly Pass: w.e.f. July, 2010 Rs 1500/- (w.e.f. 1st July, 2011)
Requires any Govt. Agency issued ID*** Validation

c) Vajra Monthly Student Pass: Rs.950/- (w.e.f. 1st July 2011)
Requires College/Institution ID Validation

*Vajra Monthly Pass Holders can travel on all services except Vayu Vajra and Bangalore Rounds
**BMTC ID is valid for 3 years and can be procured at KBS for a fee od Rs 100/- and stamp size photograph
***Pan card, DL, Voters ID, Passport & Govt Employee ID

2. Vayu Vajra Monthly (One Calender Month) Pass*: Valid for travel on all services

Vayu Vajra Gold Monthly Pass: Rs.2650/- (w.e.f. July, 2010)

  • Group purchase of 100 & above passes, Rs.2450/- per pass

3. Vajra & A/C Suvarna Daily Pass:

  1. Vajra Gold Day Pass*: Rs.100/- (w.e.f. 30.09.2012/01.10.2012)
  2. A/c Suvarna Day Pass**: Rs 60/- (w.e.f.30.09.2012/01.10.2012)

Unlimited travel in all City , Sub-urban and Trumpet services operated between Trumpet and Airport Terminal for one calendar month.

* SPECIAL TWIN BENEFITS:
As an incentive to the Monthly commuter Pass holders Rainbow Benefits Scheme has been introduced which includes the following benefits to the commuters holding Monthly Pass.
1) 24 hours Insurance Coverage: Every valid monthly commuter pass holder is provided with insurance cover to the tune of Rs.1.00 Lakh is being increased to Rs.2.00 Lakh if he/she meets with an accident/incident resulting in loss of life or total incapacitation anytime/anywhere during the validity of the pass.
2) Medical Reimbursement: Every valid Monthly Commuter pass holder is provided with a Medical reimbursement facility up to a maximum of Rs. 20,000/- is being increased to Rs.30,000/- towards in -patient medical expenses in case of injury from vehicular accidents. The payment will be made to the commuter on production of the necessary bills/vouchers, after due verification .








* * TWIN BENEFITS:
1) Automatic Accident Insurance Coverage to the tune of Rs.10 Lakh in case of death or permanent incapacitation resulting from any vehicular accident.
2) Medical Reimbursement up to a maximum of Rs.50,000/- in case of Accidental injuries necessitating inpatient treatment.

II. Senior Citizens Concessional Monthly Commuter Passes

1 City Rs.495/- Unlimited travel in all non -AC services within city limit for one calendar month.
2 Sub-urban /Pushpak/Suvarna Rs.650/- Unlimited travel in all City , Sub-urban and Pushpak/Suvarna services for one calendar month.

ID card Rs.100/- Valid for 3 years
BMTC has extended concession upto 25% of ticket value in all type of services including Black Board, Red Board, Pushpak, Suvarna, BIG-10 and Vajra buses for all the senior citizens who have completed 65 years. This has been given effect from 01.07.2010.

As proof of age any one of the following documents to be produced

  • Senior citizen ID card issued by Govt. of Karnataka /India or any of its authorized agencies.
  • Voter ID card
  • Driving License
  • PAN card
  • Passport

III. Day pass :

To eliminate unauthorised resale of its Day passes and to ensure prompt and proper disbursal of additional benefits to the Day pass holders, BMTC has made the use of an ID card to mandatory for availing its Day pass travel facilities at Rs. 45/-

  1. Day Pass : Rs.45/- (permitted to travel in BMTC's city , sub-urban , pushpak/suvarna services for one calendar day ) in possession of ID card.
  2. Day Pass : Rs.50/- (permitted to travel in BMTC's city, sub-urban, pushpak/suvarna services for one calendar day ) in non-possession of ID card.
  3. Police Duty Pass: Rs.300/- per month (permitted to travel in all ordinary services) .
  4. Police Duty Summons pass : Rs.300/- per month (Permitted to travel in all ordinary services )
  5. Fire Force Employees pass : Rs.300/- per month (permitted to travel in all ordinary services )
  6. Blind pass : Free ( BMTC honors the Blind passes issued by KSRTC)
  7. Physically Challenged pass: Rs.550/- per annum (BMTC honors the Physically challenged passes issued by KSRTC). BMTC issues passes for Physically Challenged from 1.3.2011 both at Kempegowda Bus Station & Shanthinagar Bus Station. Rs.550/- is charged for both renewal and fresh passes on the basis of the recommendation letter obtained from women and child welfare department GOK.,
