Staff Information
The Human Resource Development Department of BMTC started functioning independently w.e.f 01/12/2004.

The main objective of this department is to arrange programmes by way of training the skills and personality Development of Human Resource of BMTC. For this purpose all the employees, spouse and their children are covered under the Human Resource.

The department imparts training to upgrade designation related work i.e. refresher course, both technical as well as non technical and special training programmes with emphasis on behavioral aspect, health i.e. mental and physical fitness, work/family related stress and tension relief, spiritual activities, Yoga to the employees of the Corporation.

During the year 2007-08 totally 16,695 employees of the Corporation were subjected to training on above issues which includes 4354 newly appointed Drivers, Driver cum Conductors and Mechanical staff. And during the year 2008-09 totally 16,790 employees of the Corporation were subjected to training on same issues which includes newly appointed Drivers, Driver cum Conductors, Assistant Traffic Inspectors, Artisans and Assistant Artisans.

A special training programme was conducted to woman employees of the Corporation on Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Workplace.

The department produced Documentary Film related to passenger transport and circulated among all State Road Transport Undertakings in India to follow the theme of the films. Noted Kannada film stars Mr. Ramesh & Mrs. Tara worked as anchors in these films.

A summer camp for employee's children was organized for 25 days during the month of April-2009. in which around 180 children were participated. Also a training programme was conducted for children on How to Prepare for Exams.

As corporate social responsibility BMTC organized a HPV training programme free of cost to the unemployed youths of SC/ST who were having LMV license with S.S.L.C pass. These trainees were provided with the HPV license from R.T.O department in coordination with BMTC. Many of them got selected as Drivers in BMTC/KSRTC. In all, during the year 2008-09. 54 un employed youths were trained.

The un employed youths who applied for driver posts in BMTS/KSRTC are trained with exposure training course, there by it became easy for them to pass the trade test conducted by BMTC/KSRTC.

During the year 2008-09. 62 unemployed Schedule Cast youths were given Driving training of HPV (Heavy Passenger Vehicle) under the scheme "Navachetan"of Social Welfare Department, Karnataka Government.
